The Great Qin on a Budget: How to Pay the Least
The Great Qin has five price tiers, with list prices and limited-time offer prices running side by side. Understand the tiers first, then decide how to save.
The five tiers
| Zone | List price | Limited-time offer |
|---|---|---|
| Premium | ¥688 | — |
| VIP | ¥588 | — |
| Zone A | ¥458 | ¥368 |
| Zone B | ¥388 | ¥318 |
| Zone C | ¥338 | ¥258 |
Premium and VIP usually carry no discount; Zones A, B and C often have a limited-time offer, a gap of roughly ¥70–100 per ticket. On a tight budget, go straight for the Zone C offer — ¥258 gets you in.
Three groups that save the most
- Students and young travellers watching the budget: the Zone C offer at ¥258 is the lowest cost per ticket.
- Families with children: children aged 5 and over need their own ticket; for a family of three the Zone B offer is the best value — good enough sightlines, controlled total.
- Team outings and groups: booking one date and showtime together keeps it simple.
Getting there cheaply
The theatre is at the northeast corner of Fengdong Avenue and Tiantai Road, Weiyang District, Xi’an (Fengdong New Town, West-Xian New Area), a fair distance from the city centre.
- Metro: Line 5 to Afanggong Nan (阿房宫南) Station, Exit A/D, then walk north along Tiantai Road about 1 km (about 10 minutes); a few yuan each way, and trains run after the show.
- Driving: Lot 1 east of the theatre is free with no chargers; Lot 2 across the street south is ¥3/hour capped at ¥20, with chargers.
Off-peak and early-bird thinking
- The theatre is dark all day Tuesday — avoid Monday and Wednesday daytime shows, which are quieter and easier to book.
- The 14:30 matinee is usually easier to book than the 19:45 evening show, which fills first on popular holidays.
- Confirm your dates 3–5 days ahead — offer tickets have more availability then.
